How to Brew Our Kits
How to Brew
Brewing beer is simpler than most people expect. If you can boil water and follow a recipe you have everything you need to make something genuinely good. These videos walk you through every step of the process — watch them before your first brew day and you'll know exactly what to expect.
Getting to Know Your Kit
Before you brew anything, spend a few minutes getting familiar with what you have. These videos walk you through the contents of our starter and ingredient kits and everything else you'll need from your kitchen.
Before You Brew — Sanitizing
Sanitation is the single most important thing you'll do on brew day. It sounds intimidating but it isn't — this video shows you exactly how to do it simply and effectively. Clean equipment means good beer.
Brew Day
This is the part people find most satisfying — your kitchen smells amazing, something real is happening in the pot, and you're making beer. These three videos cover steeping your specialty grains, adding your malt extract, and adding hops at the right time.
Cooling and Pitching Yeast
Once the boil is done you'll cool the wort and add your yeast — the moment fermentation begins. Our kits use Kveik yeast strains that ferment beautifully at room temperature, so there's no need to worry about temperature control.
Bottling
After about a week your beer is ready to bottle. Two weeks after that it's ready to drink. This video walks you through the whole process simply and clearly.
