Powell's Pale Ale - 5-Gallon Kit
Powell's Pale Ale is a classic American Pale Ale, with a very slight caramel malt flavor, crisp bitterness and strong Cascade hop flavor and aroma. Just writing this makes me want to drink one right now.
I'm not sure how 5-Gallons became the standard batch size for homebrewers, but it's been that way for as long as I can remember, and since before home beer brewing was even legal. To brew this kit, you'll need a 5-Gallon or larger brew pot as well as at least a 6.5-Gallon fermenter, airlock, siphoning and bottling or kegging equipment. 5-Gallons fills about 53 12-ounce bottles. A good kitchen scale for measuring hops would help too.
The Dry Malt Difference
Our kits are made exclusively with Dry Malt Extract. Dry malt is more expensive, but I think it makes better extract beers. Unlike liquid malt extract, dry malt doesn't darken or pick up off flavors with high storage temperatures and age.
Kit includes: dry malt extract blend, specialty grains, hops, yeast, muslin grain bag, priming sugar, bottle caps and step-by-step instructions.
